先日11月19日、BC州政府はBC州のすべての公共の屋内エリアおよび小売スペースにて、マスク着用を義務付けました。
そんな中、本日24日には公共の屋内エリアでマスクを着用しない人を対象に罰金が科せられる可能性があることが発表されました。
カナダBC州の公共の屋内エリアではマスクを必ず着用しましょう。違反すると230ドルの罰金になる可能性も

本日24日付のBC Gov News「Province extends emergency, introduces mask enforcement measures」には、罰金について以下のように記されています。
Anyone without a mask in an indoor public place or who refuses to comply with the direction of an enforcement officer, including the direction to leave the space, or who responds with abusive or belligerent behaviour, may be subject to a $230 fine.
Effective immediately, these measures are enacted under the provincial state of emergency, using the extraordinary powers of the EPA in ongoing support of B.C.’s COVID-19 response.
屋内の公共エリアでマスクを着用していない人、またはその場所を離れる指示を含むオフィサーの命令を拒否する人、または虐待的or好戦的な態度で対応する人は、230ドルの罰金の対象となる場合があります。
これらの措置は、BC州のCOVID-19対策を継続的に支援するために、州の非常事態下で直ちに有効となります。

ということで、上記は12歳以上のすべてのBC州在住者が対象となります。マスク着用が義務化されている場所の例を今一度確認しておきましょう。
・モール、ショッピングセンター、コーヒーショップ、小売店、食料品店
・酒屋とドラッグストア
・空港、市庁舎、図書館、コミュニティセンター、レクリエーションセンター
・レストラン、パブ、バー
・公共の礼拝所
・公共交通機関、タクシーまたは相乗り車
・オフィスビル、裁判所、病院、ホテルの共有エリア
・身体活動に従事していないときのスポーツおよびフィットネスセンターの一般的なエリア
・高等教育機関と非営利団体の一般的なエリア

ちなみに、マスクまたはフェイスカバーは、「鼻と口を覆う医療用または非医療用マスク」として定義されます。
フェイスシールドは口の下に開口部があるためマスクの代わりにはならないので、注意してください。
また、マスクを着用できない方、または自身でマスク着脱ができない方、そして学校は免除となります。
最後に：2歳以下の子どもにはマスクは推奨されていませんが、2～12歳の子どもが公共の場に行く際にはマスク着用が推奨されています（義務ではありません）

BC州政府によると、違反切符が抑止力として機能しない場合、または特にひどい違反や再犯者の場合は犯罪に関連して起訴される可能性もあるとのことなので、十分注意しましょう。
また、2歳以下の子どもにはマスクは推奨されていませんが、2～12歳の子どもが公共の場に行く際にはマスク着用が推奨されていますよ。
