既に今年もバンクーバーではイチゴ狩りシーズンが始まっています！
そしてこれから8月下旬頃まで、ラズベリー、ブルーベリー、ブラックベリーと果物狩りが盛んになります。
2020年は新型コロナウイルス感染拡大を懸念して農園がどうなるか心配していた方も多かったかもしれませんが、U-pickを始めたことが既に多くの場所で発表されています。
ということで今回は、バンクーバー近郊にあるベリー狩りができる農園をエリア別に８カ所をピックアップ！
★デルタ
1. Emma Lea Farms ※いちご、ラズベリー、ブルーベリー、ブラックベリー、その他
デルタ市にある Emma Lea Farms は、1885年から家族経営で続いている農園です。バンクーバーのダウンタウンから車で40～50分ほどのところにあります。
新型コロナウイルスの影響でソーシャルディスタンシングを守ることや、バスケットやコンテナーは持参禁止などの新しいルールがあるので、訪れる前に公式サイトで把握しておきましょう。（以下のビデオでルールが説明されています）
2.Westham Island Herb Farm ※いちご
デルタにある Westham Island Herb Farm では、6月8日からいちごのU-Pickができるようになりました。
容器の持参は禁止で、入場規制などもあるので、注意しましょう。
★ラングレー
3. Driediger Farms Market ※いちご、ラズベリー、ブルーベリー、ブラックベリー、その他
1964年からラングレーで営業している農園です。イチゴ狩りが6月15日からオープンしました。今後ブルーベリー、ブラックベリー、ラズベリー、そしてレッドカラントのU-Pickができるようになる予定です。

4.Krause Berry Farms ※いちご、ラズベリー、ブルーベリー、ブラックベリー
Krause Berry Farmsはラングレーにある大規模なベリーファームです。
LifeVancouverスタッフも実際に以前行った際は、あまりの大きさに驚きました。
時期によって、いちご、ラズベリー、ブルーベリー、ブラックベリーが収穫できます。
併設されているお店などでは一方通行のルールが設けられていたり、ベリー狩りの際のコンテナーは必ず購入する必要があります。
採れたてのベリーたちを豪快に使用したカスタードパイは人気メニューでインスタ映えもしますよ。
★リッチモンド
5.W&A Farms ※いちご
2020年6月17日追記：
天候と畑のコンディションが悪いため、2020年いちご狩りの中止が決定しました。
リッチモンドにある家族経営のファームです。1948年から続いていて、20エーカーにもなる土地でベリー系を育てています。
★サレー
6.Surrey Farms ※いちご、ブルーベリー、ラズベリー
サレーにもU-pickができる農園がありますよ。
1989年創業のSurrey Farmsは10エーカーの土地から始まり、今では300エーカー以上の土地を所有しています。いちごだけでなく、ブルーベリー、ラズベリーなども育てています。
新型コロナウイルスの影響から、容器を持参するのは禁止されているので注意してください。
★アボッツフォード
7.Maan Farms ※いちご、ラズベリー、ブルーベリー
アボッツフォードの農園でU-pickができます。
いちご、ラズベリー、ブルーベリーが収穫できるので、公式サイトで最新の情報を確認してから出かけましょう。
8.Willems Berry Farm(アボッツフォード)※いちご、ラズベリー、ブルーベリー
1983年からアボッツフォードで家族経営されている農園が Willems Berry Farm です。Fraser Valley の中心部にあります。
農園ではイチゴ（今年は無し）、ラズベリー、そしてブルーベリーの U-Pick ができます。2020年度のU-Pickは6月末ごろからのスタートを予定しているようです。
**Strawberry update!** We have had lots of questions regarding strawberries this spring. After a lot of discussion we have decided to not open for u-pick for this first crop of strawberries. We have made this decision for a few reasons. First of all, due to the crazy business and exhaustion of last year, we weren’t able to replant new strawberries. 🤷♂️ So the crop that we would normally open for is 2 years old and the berries may not as big or as plentiful as we would like. The other reason is that, due to the pandemic, we are making changes to the farm to allow us to serve customers in the safest way possible. We are welcoming the extra time to be able to make these changes. We want our customers to feel safe and comfortable on the farm. 🍓 🍓 🍓 . All this to say, we will have strawberries available sometime in the next couple weeks, but only on a pre-order, fresh picked basis – not u-pick. You will be able to call ahead and have strawberries picked for you depending on supply. If we feel that the crop is developing better than expected, we will post an updated plan. We will let you know when the strawberries are ready for order. All this is regarding our crop of strawberries that ripen in late May, BUT we have a new field of strawberries that will be ready for picking in July and we are expecting good things from this crop! This means we will have more strawberries later in July and we will be open for u-pick strawberries then! 🍓 🍓 🍓 . So sorry for any inconvenience this causes! This has been a big year of change on the farm for our family and we appreciate the love and support from our customers! 🍓 Blueberry and Raspberry u-pick will open in June sometime, and we will post when we are open for those!
