新型コロナウイルスのパンデミックにより、バンクーバー各地で木のボードを貼ったお店を多くみかけるようになりました。

(ショッピング街のロブソンストリートにある多くの店舗にも木のボードが貼られていました)

そんな中Vancouver Mural Festival (VMF)チームが、人のいなくなった街を少しでも明るくしようと、希望のメッセージを込めたミューラルを各地に誕生させています。

【希望のメッセージ】バンクーバー各地のお店に貼られた木板に40の壁画が誕生

Vancouver Mural Festival (VMF) は、地元のアーティストや Business Improvement Associations (BIAs)と協力して、一時的に閉まっている店舗などに貼られた木のボードをキャンパスにミューラルを展開することを発表しました。

合計で40の新しいミューラルが、ダウンタウンのロブソンストリートやガスタウン、サウスグランビルなどに誕生します。

#MakeArtWhileApart We are excited to be partnering with a number of local businesses and Business Improvement Associations to support local artists while bringing hope and positivity to the streets in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. With boarded up windows becoming an increasingly common occurrence in neighbourhoods across the city, VMF is enlisting a large group of its alumni and other local artists to donate temporary mural work to these locations. We anticipate the creation of more than 40 temporary murals across several areas in only a few days! During this project the City of Vancouver COVID-19 social distancing rules will remain in effect and all artists will be following health and safety regulations. While we understand the excitement of live mural painting we strongly urge the public to stay home and enjoy the progress of the murals by following #MakeArtWhileApart through our Instagram and Facebook. For The Time Being – With everything that’s going on right now, a lot of shops in Downtown are closed and boarded up. In the words of @amysaysamy… the objective of this project is to brighten the community and foster a sense of community in a time of physical distancing. – For my family and others, reality hit once we saw the state of our local grocery stores. Watching everyone panic buy and seeing shelves empty felt surreal.
