BC Hydro bracing for rare February subtropical storms

B.C. Hydro is bracing for a rare series of February subtropical storms that are scheduled to hit the B.C. coast Wednesday night.

“In my 15 years of involvement on B.C. Hydro operations on the Campbell River system it’s hard to recall large subtropical storm systems hitting the area in February,” said B.C. Hydro’s Stephen Watson. “The last such storm was in 2003. Typically they are in the November to January timeframe.”
